Katie holds a Montessori teaching credential for the Junior High and High School levels from Houston Montessori Center, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Leadership Studies from Kansas State University, and a Master’s degree and Ph.D. Candidacy in Family Social Science from the University of Minnesota.
After spending fifteen years teaching at the Undergraduate, Junior High, and Elementary levels, she currently serves as Education Director at Sunny Hollow Montessori. Katie is passionate about program development and sustainability, family engagement, and supporting children and adolescents as they self construct to become kind, inclusive, and capable people who are lifelong learners and agents of change in their own lives and the world around them.
Katie and her husband, Tyler, are the proud parents of three Sunny Hollow Montessori children: Emma (Junior High), Jack (Elementary), and Lucy (Casa)!
